Molly Hansen - Iowa Rivers Revival

On May 26, Molly Hansen, Executive Director of the Iowa Rivers Revival, joined the Waukee Rotary Club.   The Iowa Rivers Revival's mission is to help Iowans restore, protect, and enjoy our rivers.   Iowa Rivers Revival is committed to education and action on river and water quality issues in Iowa.   Iowa River Revival's legislative priorities are to: 

 

- Establish an Iowa River Restoration Program to provide funds, criteria, guidelines, training, and expertise to begin natural river restoration in Iowa.  

- Strengthen Iowa's Low-Head Dam Mitigation and Water Trails Program to make Iowa rivers safer and even more enjoyable.

- Enact a 3/8-cent sales tax to fund the Natural Resources and Outdoor Recreation Trust Fund.   In 2010, 64% of Iowans voted to establish the Trust Fund to enhance Iowa's natural resources and outdoor recreational opportunities.
