On Thursday, April 23, 2015, Leslie Schaffer with the American Red Cross serving Iowa joined the Waukee Rotary Club. The Red Cross movement started in Switzerland in the 1860’s. The Iowa American Red Cross was founded by Clara Barton in 1881. Currently there are 1,745 Red Cross volunteers in the state of Iowa.
